Best Beaches in Cancun

Playa Delfines

This was probably my favorite beach of all the ones I visited in Cancun. The soft white sands and cool turquoise waters are absolutely spectacular and a must for anyone who travels to Cancun. Playa Delfines is a favorite for locals and tourists alike. There are built in huts, called palapas, which are perfect for relaxing under and are much better than your average beach umbrellas. I also found the beach covered with beautiful seashells, varying in colors and shapes for seashell collectors. There are many vendors who walk by and offer services, drinks, and food so you don’t have to leave your beach haven if you get hungry or thirsty. Playa Delfines was beautiful, relaxing, and very fun.

Playa Marlin

Playa Marlin is also a beautiful beach with soft white sand and beautiful waters. The attraction to this tranquil beach is that it’s less crowded than the other beaches I found in Cancun. Although when I was there, the surf only had small, modest waves, it was still a great place to splash around and soak up the sun. There are also vendors who will come by if you have any need for drinks, food, or other beach services.

Playa Tortugas

Playa Tortugas is your beach-party destination in Cancun. It is one of the most famous beaches in Cancun. Although the beach is fairly small, Playa Tortugas is lined with a variety of shops, restaurants, and bars to choose from within only a few feet from the ocean. Playa Tortugas is a great place to play in the surf, get a tan, and get some partying in while you’re in Cancun.

Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen is actually a small town an hour south of Cancun. I would recommend staying there at least one night to fully explore this bustling beach town. This town has a lot of neat shops and eateries to check out. Parque Fundadores is the main beach in Playa del Carmen. This beach is perfect for those looking to party and enjoy the warm waters. There is live music, spas, restaurants, and bars that line the beach. The beach is actually quite small and was really crowded when I went there. So, arrive early for your fun beach day. Playa del Carmen is a fun, little town that you won’t want to miss if you have an extra day on your trip to Cancun.
