Cancun

Cancun is a beautiful vacation destination for almost any budget which is the main reason why I went there. I loved Cancun’s sunny beaches. They feature incredibly soft white sand and beautiful turquoise water. I also really enjoyed the beautifully lush scenery throughout Cancun and all the other places I explored. Although the waves and some of the drives were somewhat lacking, Cancun’s beaches were still a great destination to get away and catch some rays. In addition to the beaches, I really enjoyed swimming in cenotes, which are swimming holes that are relatively short drive south of Cancun. The cenotes were full of colorful fish, snorkeling and scuba-diving with extensive cavern systems for the adventurous. They have some of the clearest water I’ve ever seen. The deep, clear water and high rock outcroppings allowed the more adventurous to jump off into the water. The cenotes were a very beautiful place with thriving aquatic ecosystems to explore and splash around in. I also experienced the breath-taking historical Mayan temple, Chichen Itza. Experiencing its architectural features and the feelings it gave me—as I connected with its rich history—are already priceless memories. Chichen Itza is famous for its step pyramid like structure, surrounding temples, and the stone structures that accompany it are quite impressive. They truly transported my thoughts to long-past eras and made me curious as to the details of the Mayan civilization who built them and lived there. Beyond the adventures I went on in Cancun and the surrounding areas, the food there was delicious and very rich in flavor. The tacos are a must! They not only taste better than any Mexican food you can find in the United States, they are a fun eating experience as well. Overall, Cancun was beautiful and full of adventures and relaxation, which made it a very enjoyable vacation for me that I recommend for your next idyllic vacation.
